Read below for news regarding new reports and improvements to the Georgia 2000 Information System (http://www.georgia2000.org). NEW REPORTS: - Healthcare Facilities and Health Information Ten reports including information about hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities and their location, resources, and services have been contributed by the Department of Community Health, Division of Health Planning. This new data is accompanied by healthcare facilities added to our interactive map. The Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Public Health, has provided cancer death rates and incidence rates by county. This information is also available as thematic maps on our interactive map (http://www.georgia2000.org/map_interface/). - 2000 Census Age, households and housing units reports are now available for the Southeast. - Manufacturing Directory The manufacturing directory report and the accompanying map has been updated. Find out more about all of our reports at http://www.georgia2000.org/more_info/info_data_sources.asp, or see the interactive map at http://www.georgia2000.org/map_interface/. VOTER PRECINCT MAP Voter precincts have been added to the interactive Redistricting map (http://www.georgia2000.org/redistricting). To find precincts on the map, be sure to zoom in to at least a scale of 1:500,000 and turn them on in the legend just to the left of the map. (Scale is indicated just below the map in the gray border.) EASIER MAP-BASED REPORTING Reporting from our interactive map (http://www.georgia2000.org/map_interface/) is now easier than before. Once you have made a selection on the map, click the "See Reports" button. The window that pops up will now present all reports in an expandable menu that works just like Windows Explorer. Just expand the category and subcategory by clicking on the "plus" signs to find the reports. To launch a report, click on the report name (a blue link). You can launch as many reports as you like from this window. (Login is required to run reports.) Still need some help using this and the other map tools?
